Madison Indiana's only outdoor art gallery and one of very few in the entire nation is commonly recognized as "The Garden of Art". This unique "art gallery" makes it's home in the gardens surrounding Lanthier Winery one of three wineries in Madison Indiana. The art gallery is open from dawn to dusk Wednesday- Sunday. There is no admission charge. More works continued to be added to the gallery which is less than one year old but has already amassed several impressive pieces.

Shown is artist Jon McAfee. He completed his first commission late July and will return in August 2005 for additional commissions. McAfee's work is entitles "Building Bridges" and is a landscape of the Madison - Milton bridge. He was assisted by Artist Eric Phagan. The two created a triad of the same subject matter. One work featured MacAfee's, one Phagan and one was a collaborative effort. The series helps visitors to the art gallery understand how artistic interpretation impacts subject matter.
Lanthier Winery was a big sensation and popular destination for guests at Vintage Indiana this year. We returned to the event after a five year hiatus. Boy were we missed! Lines as long as 25 feet- two wide at all 16 tasting stations testified to the popularity of our products. Our tent- dubbed "Lanthier Land" by other wineries was the largest and most stunning display. Hundreds of flowers, colorful flags and unique table displays engulfed our tasting tent. A VIP area provided well needed rest, comfortable seating and free cheese samples to our best customers. Herron Institutes most outstanding artists showed off their talents in and around our area. They were among artists and vendors in attendance.
Wickedly tired staff finally headed for the two hour drive home around 8pm. A special thanks to everyone who stopped in to say HI, help our or just laugh with us. If you plan on attending next year- be sure to get your VIP pass ahead of time at the 123 location.
